New to fishing or looking to get back into it? Then mark your calendars for next weekend because Louisiana’s annual Free Fishing Weekend is back on June 8th and 9th, courtesy of LDWF!

Experience the joy of fishing without the need for a fishing license! It’s the perfect opportunity to bond with loved ones, create unforgettable memories in the great outdoors, and develop a new hobby!

But remember, while the license is waived, all fishing regulations still apply.
As part of the fun, LDWF has stocked adult-sized catfish in 17 ponds across the state through the Get Out and Fish! Program. No boat? No worries! Head to our website (https://buff.ly/3G7uU1l) or LDWF Get Out & Fish for pond locations, stocking dates, and expert tips on reeling in your catch of the day.

And if you’re planning to catch some bigger fish, don’t forget about the Recreational Offshore Landing Permit (ROLP) for certain species. But during Free Fishing Weekend, simply select the “Free Fishing Weekend” option when registering.

Keep in mind, outside of Free Fishing Weekend, anglers 18 and older need a Louisiana fishing license.
